Fair trade Batimat, Paris, 2nd - 6th November 2015

Batimat is the leading trade fair for the building and construction industry in France and one of the most important in Europe. It will take place in Paris Nord Villepinte from the 2nd to 6th of November this year. The last exhibition in 2013 had 3,000 exhibitors and welcomed 400,000 visitors from beginners, experienced DIY users through to professionals

Such a big fair is the occasion to discover and select and negotiate appropriate tools and products, and to negotiate with suppliers. Diamond saw blades are some of the most popular tools used in the construction sector. Users regularly forget that these tools can be very dangerous if essential safety rules are not followed. A diamond saw blade used on an angle grinder rotates with a peripheral speed of 80 m/s. which is equivalent to a speed of 288 km/h. On a petrol saw, the speed is 100 m/s, equivalent to 360 km/h! If the diamond saw is damaged or misused, the parts ejected in case of breakage can hit workers, or people nearby, at these high speeds, the injuries may be fatal. Safety is therefore an essential part of the commitment of both suppliers and buyers, employers and users.

Safety begins by selecting products conforming to the highest safety standards recognized by the French authorities, for diamond saw blades this is EN 13236, for reinforced resinoid wheels the safety standard is EN 12413. The discs shall be marked with the relevant standard number, bear all markings required by it and conform to the technical requirements of the standard. The efforts to increase the safe use of abrasives shall also focus on the training of users. Training programs are provided by producers and professional associations.
